I am Tanden Pem currently pursuing Bachelor of Commerce
majoring in Accountant at Royal Thimphu College. I was born and brought up at Thimphu by my
mom, grandmother, and aunty. I studied at Khasadrachu Middle Secondary School
till grade eight. After that, I joined Dawakha Lower Secondary School where I
studied till grade nine. With my tiredly hard work and support from my entire
stakeholder, I got through from board exam whereby I got a chance to study at
Drukgyel Higher Secondary School. With
the change in time, my favorite subject became accountancy unlike before. Accountancy is the subject that deals with
the profession or duties of an accountant. From that, I like to play with
numbers and like to know how the account works.
As my favorite subject is Accountancy, most of the time I
used to study accountancy and score a high mark on it. Even though, time change my favorite always
become favorite whereby I also took Accountancy as my major in degree. Today, I
am gaining and learning a lot about accountancy as subject with practical as
well as theoretical. Hope my favorite
subject will help me to get my favorite job.
Class Knowledge
Knowledge can be gained from within class or outside. The
knowledge gained within the class room will just add plus point in our life.
But, with class room knowledge it is so difficult to get a job in this
competitive world. As of now, I was studying accounts just from text books
only, now realize that both practically and theoretical knowledge is important.
So, I am focusing on both. Now, it is so important to learn different types of
accounts used by various companies. For Instance, how it worked in the company and
whether my theoretical knowledge can apply or not. So, I would like to say that
to be a competent person in our life; we need to be all rounded person.
Useful knowledge
Knowledge is always wisdom for our life. For instance,
Accountancy is very important wherever we got and whatever we do. So, Accountancy is very useful knowledge in
our daily life.
Hobby
In Bhutan till now we have limited Chatter accountant, I want
to learn more practical and wanted to go for further study on the charter
accountant. I know it is not easy to become chatter accountant, but I feel
nothing is impossible when every ordinary person can do why not me, with that
thought in my mind I want to fulfill my dream.
Voucher
In the first semester when we are recapping what we have
learned from class 11 to 12 at that time our tutor give a project; how accountant maintains the credit voucher
and debit voucher in a company because of this practical knowledge today I know
what voucher should maintain for different payment and in voucher what we have
to write. While we are doing
practically, I feel really angry at lecture because at that time I don’t have
any idea about doing practically and I don’t know how to do. Now I realized that knowledge and experiences
is very important in our life.
The business plan
It was during the fall semester when we had entrepreneur
course where we had to make a real business plan with a new idea. We were
divided into groups, and each group has to come up with a new business plan
where our group came up with sunflower oil. The main product we can produce is
sunflower oil which is pure and health associated. By doing this project, it
not only helped to make a business plan but I also gained how business work
around by doing market survey, financial analysis, etc. The project had to keep
clear books of account for the business to run successfully in the market and
know the profitability of the firm. That was an additional experience for my
interest in accounting, which will be plus point for my future job.
Management Accountant
Currently, I am in 5th semesters where we are Management
Accounting, from that I learned about how we can manage and solve the problems
related to accounting an risk associated to it. Moreover, it is gave us about
how to used tactics and techniques to solve the accountant problems in near
future.
Passion
Since accounts is subject which we need a lot of passion
because there is a lot of possible to make error and we need to check again and
again. Moreover, we have to have a all the records about the past. Without proper
record, it is impossible to find out the profit and loss statement which is so
important for the company. Further move,
we have to produce accurate because we have to show the public as well as
custom people for tax. That is why accounts are such a work where we need
passionate and dedicative person for the work.
Cash flow
During my 3rd Semester, our tutor ask to study
real business on cash flow, from that I came to know, what we have to look
about company, if investment shows negative we should know that company is
going to stay in business for longer duration and if it is showing in positive
we should know that company soon going from the business and finance showing in
negative business is paying in loan and coming out from the business. That
practical knowledge it is never going out from my head, thank you, tutors,
because of your project we gain much knowledge in accounting.
Share in Bhutan
That is was in 2015 where I attended two hours guest lecture
series about Share In Bhutan.
Whereby I can to know how share in Bhutan is working and collecting. As of now,
I thought we can share only through call, but it is not. Bhutan share company
share through collecting all the calls together and moreover in Bhutan share
market is very poor. This is due to lack of awareness program about it. As per my view, after buying the share from the
company, I think we must participate in share market, whereby we can learn lesson
about it. Moreover, Concern Company must give awareness program to our people
about when to buy and sell the share.
